We’re still two months away from the premiere of The Voice2013, but that’s not stopping our predictions for how Season 4 will turn out.
With three incredible seasons behind us, we have some interesting ideas for how this spring will go for the country’s top contestants and coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira.
Let’s review what we know:
Seasons 1 and 2 featured R&B-focused artists who were both fathers of young children and loving husbands. Season 1 winner Javier Colon was a member of Team Adam, and Season 2 winner Jermaine Paul was a member of Team Blake.
In Season 3 America decided to select a new style of winner as the show went into a new format. Instead of four finalists (one from each team) in the finale, the finalists were selected based on America’s votes.
Punk rocker Cassadee Pope took home the title — attributing part of her success to the infusion of country that went into her sound throughout the season.
Terry and Nicholas’s spots are definitely of note going into Season 4. The classic rocker and the folk singer represent a new style of contestant that The Voice has yet to feature in the winning spot.
This could mean that America will select a contestant from one of those genres moving forward. But chances are the days of R&B inspirational ballads are over (at least in the winner’s circle), and we’re not exactly complaining.
In order for the show to really make it on the map, The Voice needs to have a winner with impressive songwriting abilities and a real drive to get out there and promote their sound. Apart from one Samsung commercial, what has Jermaine Paul done since his May 2012 win? And who is Javier Colon?
