Last week in one of the most shocking eliminations The Voice has seen, Holly Tucker beat fan favorites Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons. The Team Blake Shelton contestant was back this week to prove she deserves her spot in the competition.

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the singer on the red carpet following her two emotional performances.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Tonight Blake Shelton called you the most diverse artist on his team. How do you feel about that?

Holly Tucker: That was very cool to hear from my own coach and just to know that I have his support and that he really cares about me.

Those are some serious heels!

Yeah, they are pretty painful.

Is that part of the coaching? They teach you how to walk in those heels?

Yeah. Blake has some interesting coaching methods. You’re going to see that coming soon. I can’t say too much because it’s going to give it away but it’s going to be pretty funny coming up.

What was your favorite performance tonight?

I liked them both for different reasons. I liked “God-Fearin’ Women” because I got to show that fiery side of me again. I was kind of bringing a little bit from last week. I do have that in me but I haven’t gotten to show a whole lot of that so that was really cool to do that. “My Wish” was very raw and emotional for me and the set was beautiful just majestic almost and to have my parents there tonight was really cool too. To give some of that back was a great experience.

How are you dealing with the pressure of being on the show and getting closer to the finale?

It’s a lot to think about and we just take it week by week and it’s just kind of sing and survive, sing and survive, sing and survive. It’s a grueling process because it does take an emotional toll on all of us, but it’s making us better artists and people in the process.

Do you have any tips or methods to avoid getting too much into your own head about it?

The biggest thing for me has just been believing in myself. Each week it gets harder because I know there is a lot of great talent here and I know that Blake supports me and my family supports me. It’s always been tough for me to believe the best about myself. I always try so hard and I just think that I’m growing into that confidence and that’s the best part for me.

Do you have any pre-performance rituals?

A lot of breathing, a lot of praying. Sheryl Crow gave me a tip to kind of center myself and pulling my feet to the earth and just really being solid and feeling how I am physically and everything and that helps me to deliver a better performance.

Does that seem surreal that you’re like, “Sheryl Crow gave me this tip…?”

Oh, for sure. I’m still getting used to the idea that I’m working with all these great artists and meeting all these people, but it’s crazy but in a good way.
