UPDATE: Christina Milian is now rumored to be joining the Season 17 cast of Dancing With the Stars, which could explain her exit from The Voice Season 5.
Wuzzup, Carson! Just want you to know that Christina Milian won’t be kickin’ it in the Sprint Skybox with any contestants or coaches from The Voice Season 5.
That’s right, the social media correspondent from the hit NBC music competition is taking off at least one season to focus on her new album.
“I took a break this season from The Voice so I can work on my music,” she revealed to Extra. “I’ve watched so many people pass by me that are these great new artists that are just up there performing that I get that envy. I want it to be me.”
No news yet on if anyone will fill Ms. Milian’s shoes in Season 5, but it’s not like her role was entirely vital to the show’s dynamic — unless you really wanted to know what @xtinaplusadam4evah was tweeting about the latest rendition of whatever Bruno Mars song happens to be overplayed at the time.
Basically, if you’re ever feeling lost without your social media guide, just remember that each performance is probably trending worldwide.
And as for the former Disney recording artist, she’s looking to keep things salacious when it comes to her new music.
“My new album is very urban, pop but kind of sexy,” she continued. “From ‘Dip It Low’ days, I don’t strive too far from that. I know what I know and it works.”
Personally, we’re bigger fans of her theme song to Kim Possible, but since beepers don’t really exist anymore, she might need to upgrade to “call me, tweet me, if you want to reach me.”
