The Voice 2013 Season 5 blind auditions are finally over with each coach having their completed teams of 12 contestants. Last night, the coaches were especially cautious about the talent that came across the stage to fill their few remaining spots and while hundreds of talented hopefuls gave it their best shot, only a few managed to impress us.
Returning Voice contestant, Matt Cermanski, blew us away this time around with his rendition of Bobby Darin’s “Have a Little Faith In Me.” On Season 4 of The Voice, the singer couldn’t get any of the coaches to turn around to his cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” but this time around, the crooner definitely showed off his musicality by accompanying his vocals with the sounds of his trusty guitar and blowing us away.
Latin-pop singer Michael Lynch may have had the most entertaining performance of the night, with Enrique Iglesias’s “Bailamos.” His love of Latin culture moved coach Christina Aguilera so much, the songbird joined her team member for a small, yet rousing, salsa dance and reprise of the song.
However, we had to give the best performance of the night to Gospel-turned-R&B singer, Tamara Chauniece, for her cover of Beyonce’s “1+1.” Within the first few seconds of Tamara’s audition, Christina immediately turned her chair for the gospel singer, and continued to listen on in awe at Tamara’s vocal ability. Coach Cee Lo Green also spun his chair for the singer, who he said was taking him “back to church” and we too felt that she may have truly embodied King Bey for the moment.
