The Voice’s Blake Shelton isn’t afraid to boast about his streak on the show, having guided the last three winners to their victories. And, while the other judges definitely add a lot and do give Blake a run for his money, we think there’s one person this show needs on its panel, and that’s Kelly Clarkson.

The newly married inaugural winner of American Idol has already said she wouldn’t be a judge on the show that launched her into stardom. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal earlier this year, Kelly said:

“The one thing I did do was Duets on TV, and that was because I got to be a part of the process. I’m not really good at telling people how to do something. I’m better at showing them. So, yeah, that really wouldn’t be my forte.”

That doesn’t preclude her from The Voice, though, as she would be a part of the process there. And we think she’d be a perfect pick for the swivel chair, as she could be the one to break Blake’s winning streak. So many singers these days want to go the country route. While she’s a super successful crossover artist, Kelly has recently made a bit of a foray into the world of country. And –– damn! –– she sounds good in that genre. In fact, she has performed her song “Because Of You” as a duet with new mother-in-law and country icon Reba Mcentire. Because she’s also been so successful in pop, she’d also be great competition for Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.

And, as for engaging in the friendly rivalry that these judges have become known for, we just know Kelly would do just that. In fact, she and Blake have been known to jaw at each other in the media for sport but, in the end, the two are great buddies. In fact, Blake was initially set to officiate and sing at Kelly’s wedding.

We don’t know if a swivel chair is becoming available but if it does, what do you think of this pick for Season 6? Sound off in the comments!
