Destinee Quinn Sings “See You Again” by Carrie Underwood and Olivia Henken Sings “You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt
October 28, Team Coach singers Destinee Quinn and Olivia Henken were paired to sing against one another on The Voice 2013 knockout rounds. Country singer Destinee Quinn came to the stage first with See You Again. At rehearsals, she revealed that she chose the song for its personal message as she’s lost two important women in her life.
Following Destinee, Olivia came to the stage swinging with “You’re No Good” by Linda
Ronstadt. Olivia chose the song for its country, rock, and pop influences. Olivia was warned by Christina to choose one moment of the song to make her own, as opposed to trying to explode in every aspect of the powerhouse song.
Both coaches and Adam Levine and Blake Shelton felt that the two singers had strengths and weaknesses to their performance — most notably that Destinee was a bit flat and nervous, while Olivia was sharp and sang over her notes. When it was time to make a selection, Christina, who found the decision-making process tough, gave the knockout to Olivia.
