The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has been putting major star power behind sister Briana Cuoco this season on The Voice, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to propel her beyond last night’s knockout round against country singer Shelbie Z.
Briana took on the vocally challenging song “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt and, although she had a strong start and finish, she sort of wavered between pitchy and boring in the middle of the song. The performance was also a bit lethargic in comparison to Shelbie, who hit the stage with a major ‘tude as she performed Carrie Underwood’s “Last Name” once again. She worked the stage and the audience, and you could see the judges enjoying her flirtatious nature.
Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera both preferred Shelbie’s performance, with Xtina telling her “I’m a fan.” While coach Blake Shelton said, “These two are the hardest working artists on my team,” there was only room for one to progress. In the end, he went with Shelbie, whom he said “flat-out out-sings” Briana, at least during last night’s performance. Ouch — that’s gotta hurt.
Adding insult to injury, the steal was on the table for Briana, who was looking smoking hot in a tight black corset and skirt, but no one picked up the singer with the famous sibling.
Was it a mistake for Blake to let Briana go? Should one of the other coaches have picked her up? Sound off in the comments!
