The stars were out in Nashville last night, and no, we aren’t talking about the ones up in the sky. Newcomers and legends of country music were all in tow last night at the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards, but none shined brighter than the fabulous Miranda Lambert.
Not only was Miranda rocking a cobalt blue dress, but her threads were hugging her new, more slimmed-down curves. The 29-year-old “Gunpowder and Lead” singer looked smaller than ever on the red carpet while clinging to her hubby Blake Shelton’s arm.
The 2013 Female Vocalist of the Year winner dished to the press backstage about how she dropped the pounds. She revealed that with 30 quickly approaching (she celebrates that milestone on Sunday), she thought she would “get ahead of the game.”
"All through my 20s I worked a lot. I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking — I didn’t give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding!” Miranda jokes. “I just felt that I should get a little more healthy and I have a record coming out in the spring and it’s a very important album to me — my fifth album — and I have this spot, I found a great spot in country music and I want to keep it.”
“I want people to know that I care — that I found my niche and I care about it in all aspects, musically and my songs that I write and what I talk about and I want to look the part too,” Miranda continues. “So just finding a new spot in my life and working hard. I didn’t give up really a lot really. Just Cheetos mostly! But I might have some tonight, just to celebrate.”
We love your new look, Miranda. And darn you, Cheetos. You’re a cruel, cruel vice.
