Many are saying it’s sure to be a win for the guys on this season of The Voice, but we’ve got our eye on Tessanne Chin. The Jamaican singer commands the stage and mesmerizes viewers and judges alike. Here are five reasons we think Tessanne has a good shot at winning Season 5 of The Voice:

1. Music is in her blood. She’s been performing since she was six years old, and her mother, father, and sister are all musicians. She also has a cousin who is a vocalist and guitarist with the UK band The Royal Players. Tessanne’s mother was a trumpeter and singer in a band called Carnations, and her father was their drummer. The family reportedly has a recording studio in their house in Jamaica!

2. The coaches love her. Although the results are now in the hands of viewers, we all know the judges have a lot of influence. As Adam Levine said after her last performance of Emeli Sandé’s “My Kind of Love,” “I enjoy watching you sing and watching you grow.” Cee Lo Green has also declared her to be one of his favorites.

3. She looks the part. Of course, if we were politically correct. we’d say that a person’s outward appearance doesn’t matter, but the cold, hard truth is it does play a part in entertainment. The exotic singer, whose father is of Chinese and Cherokee descent and whose mother is half Black and half English/African, is not only beautiful but she also looks like she was born to be on camera.

4. Her style of music is unique. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the last of the female country singers left the show as — let’s face it — we’ve been there; done that (sorry, Blake). But Reggae-Fusion? Now that’s a style of music you don’t hear about every day.

5. She’s got major experience under her belt. Where other contestants are just diving into the music business, Tessanne has already worked with some highly respected artists, including touring with reggae legend Jimmy Cliff for three years. She has also opened for Patti LaBelle, Peabo Bryson, and Gladys Knight. Every time she hits the stage, Tessanne shows us that her comfort zone is in front of an audience.
