On November 18, Team Adam Levine Jamaican powerhouse Tessanne Chin gave a rousing performance of the classic hit “If I Were Your Woman” by Gladys Knight & the Pips. Adam gave Tessanne the big dramatic soul song because she hadn’t done one yet. During rehearsals Tessanne felt that the song was kicking her butt, but she was determined to bring some of her Jamaican sassiness to the tune.

Taking the stage with the classic funk/soul hit, Tessanne took charge of the song and gained praise from her coach Adam. Adam was utterly proud of Tessanne’s performance, starting that not many could sing a song by the great Gladys Knight, but he definitely rose to the occasion.

Christina enjoyed Tessanne’s performance, and noted that she even heard a bit of Tessanne’s accent during the first lyric. Though Xtina complimented Tessanne for being a great singer, she critiques that she would like to hear more dimension in her voice and even made a plea to hear more of Tessanne’s Jamaican accent.
