‘Member when over-the-top American Idol judge Nicki Minaj made a thinly-veiled threat against Mariah Carey and Mimi hired extra security because — let’s face it — Nicki can be kind of scary? Do we now have a similar sitch between frienemy coaches on The Voice, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton? Last night, Adam threatened to murder the bedimpled country singer. Gasp!

Relax, relax. It was all in good fun, as most of their ribbing is on the show. After James Wolpert’s hopelessly mediocre and undeniably pitchy performance of “Without You” on last night’s Top 10 performance show, Blake made a joke that the producers should pony up for the bottom half of his microphone. Adam took immediate exception, standing up and pointing at Blake.

“That’s cool!” Adam yelled. “You stop that right now! That’s a Freddie Mercury nod right there, and that’s cool! You, you are not cool ... I will kill you!”

While others have admittedly said some negative things about Blake this season (like Cee Lo and Xtina calling the three-time winning coach “lazy” this season), it seems as though this was just a case of guys being guys.

What did you think of the exchange between Adam and Blake?
