Sometimes it’s hard to tell how Christina Aguilera really feels about The Voice contestants as she gives her feedback. Let’s just say she can be a bit reserved when it comes to heaping on the praise. In a recent interview with Jay Leno, however, she showered her remaining contestants –– Matthew Schuler and Jacquie Lee –– with compliments.

“Matthew’s so charismatic. He just comes to play,” the “Beautiful” singer said. “Jacquie is so beyond her years. I relate to her. When I was young, I was known as the little girl with the big voice.”

According to E! Onine, her verbal praise doesn’t necessarily translate online, however. E! News caught up with the contestants after their stellar performances on last night’s show, and Matthew admitted that his coach isn’t a follower of his on social media.

"I'm still waiting for Christina to follow me! Maybe one day!" he joked. "No, she's the best coach in the world!"

To be fair, Christina only follows 19 people on Twitter, and none of them are current or former mentees. Regardless of what her social media profile says, it’s clear she’s really attached to her two remaining contestants and hopes that they keep moving forward. As for Matthew, he told E! News he’s trying not to sweat the outcome of tonight’s results show.

"I'm trying not to be nervous and to just live in the moment, just have fun while I'm here," the talented Voice contestant told E! News after the show. "It's been an amazing experience. Whatever happens happens."

According to our poll, Matthew could definitely be in danger tonight, which is hard to believe considering his unforgettable rendition of “Hallelujah” only a few weeks ago. But that’s how The Voice cookie crumbles.

As for Twitter, we’re not sure the coaches really should follow their contestants. What do you think? Sound off in the comments!
