Feud? What feud? Dueling divas Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga put rumors to rest on the night of The Voice finale with a live duet of Gaga’s hit, “Do What U Want”. The two killed it together on stage with matching gold lamé dresses and big, platinum hair. Now, a studio version of the redux is available on YouTube, and it sounds incredible. In fact, we hope these two collaborate again and soon.
Back in September, there were rumors that the two powerhouse vocalists were at odds because some Gaga fans were complaining that Xtina’s song, “Not Myself Tonight,” was a rip-off of Gaga’s signature sound. Back then, Gaga herself set the record straight. During an episode of What What Happens Live, she not only disputed rumors of a fight but she went into detail about how Xtina has always been her musical inspiration.
“Christina is an incredible vocalist and an incredible artist,” Lady Gaga gushed. “From me to her, I'm so sorry for anything that anyone ever said to her because of my existence. I hope that she never felt any way about it because when I was 15, I was singing ‘I Turn to You’ at the top of my lungs trying to hit all her notes. So she was an inspiration to me to have a wider vocal range, and I just think it's all total nonsense the way that they do that."
Awww, we love that. Perhaps the two will continue their love fest during their next performance, or perhaps that has too much of a “been there, done that” feel to it. Either way, we’re on board with any future duets by these two talented singers.
