Tessanne Chin’s gotten a sort of baptism by fire when it comes to being thrown into the spotlight of the music business — not that the Season 5 winner of The Voice is likely complaining.

The gorgeous Jamaican reggae fusion singer recently performed (not for long due to technical difficulties!) on The Voice float in the Rose Bowl parade. She also joined her fellow Jamaican Shaggy for his Shaggy and Friends concert last night for some unforgettable performances. Tessanne spread the love during Shaggy’s soiree by bringing one-time Voice favorite Matthew Schuler up on stage halfway through the set.

According to The Jamaican Gleaner, “The night belonged to Tessanne…” She reportedly brought down the house by opening with “The Reason”. She followed that up with some songs she performed on the show, including “Try”, “Redemption Song”, and “Underneath It All”.

Matthew reportedly wowed with his covers of “When A Man Loves A Woman” and “Hallelujah”, the latter of which spent many weeks on the iTunes chart after he performed it on the show.

While everyone loved those two songs, it was apparently a cover of Wayne Wonder’s “No Letting Go” that had the crowd in a frenzy. Looks like he’ll be doing okay despite not even making it into the finals!
