Shakira’s next album — due out March 25 — is bound to have some insanely unique songs on it. Not only do we love the collaboration between Shakira and Rihanna on the reggae-infused  “Can’t Remember To Forget You,” but the sexy Latin songstress looks to be teaming up with fellow coach on The Voice, Blake Shelton.

Shakira took to Twitter to promote the effort, tweeting, “In the studio cookin up something good with my friend @blakeshelton. He says please don't cut him out of the picture!”

This pairing is especially interesting when one considers that Blake’s wife, Miranda Lambert, is the mentor for Team Shakira on the upcoming season of The Voice. What a tangled web they weave!

Shakira appeared to be delighted with the results, tweeting later, “Now seriously Blake (@blakeshelton), thanks so much for this. This song is awesome!! Shak.”

As country music site The Boot points out, Blake wasn’t always down with Shakira … or Usher, for that matter. When the two came on board to alternate with Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, he admitted he was a bit nervous about upsetting the apple cart.

“I was a little bit nervous [about adding new coaches] because I knew how well the show was doing and it was beating the odds,” Blake admitted during a press conference last April. “It’s a music talent show in a world where there’s a lot of those. We knew we had something that worked and I had never met [Usher and Shakira] before. The one thing that you can’t fake is chemistry,” he said.

However, all his worries turned out to be unfounded. “ I’ll be damned if it’s not as strong as it’s ever been with the four of us. I’m lovin’ it. I’m proud of that.”

The collaboration between Blake and Shakira is sure to be unique, given their completely different sounds and musical genres. The only thing we hope to avoid is a music video like the one with Shakira and Rihanna. Sorry, Blake, but we just can’t see you grinding that bootie up against walls the way they do. As Shakira says, hips don’t lie.
