On February 25, returning contestant Delvin Choice took The Voice stage to give a soulful rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You.” The Greenville, South Carolina native took notes from his previous audition, and decided to come back with a softer melody that could display his full voice. In hopes of translating how badly he wanted to be a part of The Voice experience, Delvin received a three-hair turn from Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Shakira.

Ready to jump in for the kill, both Adam and Shakira, both jumped out of their seats. In the last moment of his audition, Usher joined in the fight for Delvin by pushing his button.

”There is no doubt in my mind that you can win this whole thing,” Adam told him. Blake complimented the singer for his amazing control, while Shakira solemnly swore to take Delvin to the top. Usher noted that the song was very personal to him, and Shakira added that like her hips, the rest of her doesn’t lie.

After some consideration (and an adorable raised hand from Shakira), Delvin decided to choose Adam as his coach because of the intensity he had when he first turned his chair.
