On February 25, 16-year-old pop singer Madilyn Paige took The Voice stage to croon a soft piano ballad of “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia. The Utah native received her first chair from coach Usher, with coach Shakira coming in moments later. Usher approached the singer by promising to train her into being a great artist, while Shakira reminded the “beautiful and powerful” singer that she too started out at a young age and because of this, she has a ton of knowledge to pass down to Madilyn to sculpt her into the artist she wants to be.

Playing the Beiber card, Usher not only alerted Madilyn to the reality that he began his singer career at 11, but that he has already turned one young rising talent into a superstar.

When it was time to make a choice, Madilyn opted to have Usher as her coach.
