Not too many men can rock an updo during a blind audition for The Voice and live to tell about it. Devin Choice did just that and, not only did he get all four chairs to swivel, but he was also told he could possibly win it all by admirer Adam Levine. Not bad … not bad at all.

The Starbucks barista from Greenville, South Carolina, first auditioned in Season 5, but to no avail. It was Adam who gave him a little piece of advice to take with him, telling him to choose a better song the next time. (He performed a Ne-Yo song for his first blind audition.)

That nugget of wisdom paid off tenfold, as Delvin’s rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You” had all four judges pleading with him to choose their respective teams. In fact, when Usher questioned Shakira’s pledge to help him snag the title, she stood up and said, “These hips don’t lie!”

In the end, though, he chose the coach who took the time to give him advice, and that was Adam. But what else do we know about this graduate of the Greenville Fine Arts Center?

According to the bio on his website, Delvin’s parents say he’s been singing since birth.

“On the day Delvin was born, he came in the world singing a high soprano that rung out through Greenville Memorial Hospital. We knew right then that he was a very special gift from God,” they wrote.

His talents have been widely recognized in South Carolina. He won first place in the National Association Of Teachers Of Singing in 2005 and 2006. He was also the first-place finisher in The Omega Talent Hunt Program in 2005, 2007, and 2008. Delvin has musical theater experience as well, having landed roles in The Greenville Little Theatre’s productions of Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Roger and Hammerstein’s Carousel.

The handsome singer, who has undergone four years of classical voice training, had the backing of his Starbucks peers. Last night, Starbucks Partners tweeted, “We're all cheering for @drchoice! #teamlobster@cmgarringer: watching @NBCTheVoice and cheering on a fellow partner all season!”

Do you think Delvin will make it far on season six of The Voice? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments!
