On March 4, 33-year-old singer Emily B took The Voice stage to belt out “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. The off-scene singer has been featured in numerous projects including Pitch Perfect, The Muppets, and even one of Cee Lo Green’s Christmas albums! Two days before her wedding, the singer was diagnosed with VHL syndrome, which required her to have two brain surgeries after her honeymoon. Toward the end of her set, Emily was able to snag coaches Shakira and Blake, followed closely behind by Usher.

Usher immediately went in for the kill, stating that he took his time to hear the singer make the song hers and give him an idea of what he can potentially do with her if she chose him as her coach. Blake jumped in, complimenting Emily on her powerful falsetto. When Emily noted that she would love to be an artist who could sing with a bit of soul, Usher told the singer he was right up her alley.

Bringing it all home, Shakira reminded Emily that she was the first to push her button and could definitely help the singer inject soul into her music. After hearing that, Emily decided that Shakira was the right fit for her.
