On April 1, Team Blake Shelton soul singers Sisaundra Lewis and Biff Gore Sing “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown. Blake paired the two together to see which one could ultimately fill the R&B/soul spot on his team. After Biff and Sisaundra selected the classic James Brown tune for their battle, the pair meet with mentor Chris Martin (of Coldplay) to rehearse.

During rehearsals, Blake noted that the song gave Biff the opportunity to show a stronger side, while simultaneously allowing Sisaundra room to play with her high notes. With both Chris and Blake impressed with pair, Biff and Sisaundra took the stage for a battle of the ages.

Coach Usher complimented Sisaundra for her impressive high notes and was proud of former Team Usher contestant Biff’s massive improvement. Shakira said she was a fan of Biff’s “timeless” voice and called Sisaundra’s vocal register “sick.” Adam Levine was convinced that Sisaundra was from out of this world, and complimented Biff’s energetic presence on stage.

Blake agreed with the coaches, noting that Biff if an all around entertainer, while Sisaundra is most definitely out of this world. When it was time for Blake to make a choice, he decided to keep the alien that is Sisaundra.
