After a whopping six seasons of The Voice, NBC is looking to shake up their beloved competition show. Not only has the Oscar-nominated Pharrell Williams been tapped to replace Cee Lo Green come Season 7, but word on the street is that Gwen Stefani will be joining the cast as well!

According to a new report by TMZ, the No Doubt frontwoman has signed on to replace Christina Aguilera when the show returns this fall. (As of now, NBC has yet to release a statement.) Sources tell the website that producers first began looking for a new replacement back in February when Christina’s pregnancy was revealed. Though the network was hoping to keep the singer in one of those big red spinning chairs, the 33-year-old would be too close to giving birth once battle rounds began.

As of now, sources tell TMZ that Gwen’s contract is for only one season, and that Christina will rotate back into the mix come Season 8.

As much as we’re going to miss Christina and her boob-baring outfits, we can’t wait for the uber-talented Gwen to bring her trademark vocals to The Voice. (And don’t even get us started on her platinum blond hair and flawless red lips!) Of course, we can’t help but wonder what this rotation means for Shakira’s fate on the show, but as usual, only time will tell!

Are you excited by this announcement? Do you think Gwen will make a good coach, or is Christina totally irreplaceable? Sound off in the comments!
