On April 28, Team Adam Levine singer Christina Grimmie gave a rousing performance of “Hold On, We’re Going Home” by Drake. Adam brought by his own mentor, Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash, to help the 20-year-old YouTube star realize her reinterpretation of the hip-hop hit. Graham was impressed with the depth and control Christina possesses, even at such a young age.

Performing a very stripped down version of the song, Christina really made the song her own and showed off her impressive range.  Blake Shelton said that she made the transformation from singer to artists right before their very eyes. Usher applauded her, saying an acoustic performance is actually more difficult and adding that her rendition would make Drake proud and should earn her a spot in the finals. Shakira was impressed by the dynamic of her voice and called the performance “unbelievable” and “insane.”

Coach Adam says Christina is an inspiration for him and should be to others, because she took charge of the entire artistic vision of her performance and executed it with conviction, giving him a case of goosebumps.
