On April 28, Team Blake Shelton country crooner Jake Worthington gave a rousing performance of “Run” by George Strait.

After last week’s performance, Blake thought it was about time for Jake to perform a song by his idol, George Strait. Going into rehearsals, Jake tried very much to impress mentor music producer, Scott Hendricks. Jake tried to impress Scott so much, in fact, that he began to overshoot his notes! After being told to relax and take it easy, Jake was able to sing the song to his coach’s liking.

The teenage charmer took the stage with the 2001 hit song, and even got his coach to his feet. Usher told Jake that he was proud of him for handling the pressure of the competition and perform the George Strait hit with poise and ease. Shakira was happy to see Jake still alive in the competition, calling it gratifying to know that he is a second-time competitor making his way through the show.

Adam Levine said that Jake was a great performer, who was a great story teller. Blake told Jake that he thought Jake was great, and probably would’ve made George proud. He also told Jake that he was remarkably relatable to the entire fanbase and had an innate ability to be genuine and loved by us all.
