When news hit that Love & Hip Hop Atlanta stars Mimi Faust and her boyfriend, Nikko, would be releasing their sex tape, the internet went crazy — especially in their investigation on Nikko’s musical past. The press has continued to mistake him for Nikko Smith, American Idol Season 4 contestant. However, Nikko (last name London) does have a connection to NBC’s music competition show: The Voice. And you won’t believe how!
If you watched The Voice Season 6 (or haven’t, it’s OK, we won’t judge), you will probably remember a 24-year-old Tejana contestant, Paula DeAnda. Paula was once a recording artist, who came to fame whenbig time exec Clive Davis signed her to Arista. Though she scored a couple hits, Paula was dropped from her record label, and when she auditioned for The Voice, she won over coach Blake Shelton with her cover of Ariana Grande’s “The Way.”
So, how is Nikko connected to all of this? Turns out that he actually penned a song for Paula’s successful debut album, Paula DeAnda.
In an interview with Vlad TV, Nikko revealed that he was the musical genius behind Paula’s song, “Easy” which features rapper Bow Wow.
Who knew, right?
Unfortunately, Paula wasn’t able to make it past the first set of Battle Rounds against her teammate, Sisaundra Lewis, but we have no doubt the sultry singer will land on her feet (and a new record deal soon).
As for Nikko? It appears he hasn’t put all of his songwriting skills to waste, despite his newfound reality fame. He’s recently released his latest solo project, “New Shower Rod,” based on his filmed sexcapade with Mimi.
