On May 12, Team Adam Levine singer Kat Perkins gave a rousing performance of “Chandelier” by Sia. Being the first person in Voice history to be saved twice from elimination, Adam told his contestant that she was on an upward trajectory and because of this, Adam gave Kat Sia’s pop ballad to sing — the first pop song that Kat has actually performed in the competition.

Knowing the challenge of the song, Kat took it on head first focusing on its operatic sound and bringing that to the forefront during her performance.

Blake Shelton thought that Kat does everything right and does so to move her forward. Blake went on to say that Kat was able to show another level of her capabilities and called her overall performance “great.”

Shakira did acknowledge that the song is a bit of a beast to tame, but ultimately admired the way the former nanny made it her own. Taking a page from Shakira’s book, Adam listed several reasons why Kat should be voted into the Top 3 saying that Kat is one of the most talented vocalists in the competition who’s fought her way out elimination twice and (obviously) succeeded. That combined with her hard-work and dedication towards being the artist that she is, Adam said, should most certainly launch her into the finals.
