Though The Voice’s Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera have had their share of differences, the stars remain closer than ever, even as the pop diva prepares to leave the show in the spring.
Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Adam today at a press conference in New York City, where he was quick to defend the multitude of “haters” who frequently insult his co-star’s weight, style, and hairdos.
“People shouldn’t say those kind of things, because, f—k you! Come on guys, grow up!” he said. “It pisses me off, and of course I have her back, of course I defend her. It’s not nice to just have your bread and butter be trashing other people. That’s bullying.”
And what about those who defend their negative comments by saying celebs can take it?
“Sure, we may be confident, successful people who can take a punch, but it’s just not cool,” Adam said. “I’ve never liked it. I think it’s horrible, and I’ll totally defend [her] when people say things like that.”
We’re glad Xtina’s got a “fighter” in her ring against the press! And we’d love for Adam to defend us like that one day! Sigh, the life of a pop star.
Adam also admits he’ll definitely miss the “Your Body” singer come spring.
“No one can replace Christina and Cee Lo,” he admitted. “It’s not really possible.”
