With the third season of The Voice in full swing, the winning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are still bragging about their Season 1 and 2 winners, Javier Colon and Jermaine Paul.

And though it’s still a little early to tell whether Jermaine’s career will be a success, Season 1 winner Javier and his coach Adam aren’t exactly thrilled with Javier’s accomplishments thus far.

When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke with Javier back in June, the singer admitted that his album Come Through For You wasn’t a success.

“It wasn’t probably what everyone had expected it to be, but one thing I know from being in this business from before The Voice is that this is not a sprint, it’s a marathon,” Javier said.

Despite touring with Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw, and Colbie Caillat, things still aren’t exactly where Adam had hoped they’d be more than a year after Javier’s win.

“It makes me sad when I see Javier isn’t having the career we want him to have,” Adam Levine admitted to The Daily Beast in September. “I’m going to do everything I possibly can to help him. I’m passionate about seeing talented people succeed.”

But Adam remains realistic about the problem facing contestants on the show.

“What people also need to understand is that it’s a TV show,” Adam said. “It would be really great if they could help launch the careers of the artists after the show is over, but you know what happens when the show is over? It’s time for the next season. All that being said, I do believe somebody is going to break through.”
