This just in: The Voice coach Adam Levine will play a "sexy" character when he guest stars this fall on Season 2 of American Horror Story. We'll file this one under "obviously."

"He's a sexy guy, so he needs to play a sexy guy," explains show co-creator Ryan Murphy. "But the guy that is different than who you think he would play."

Does that mean his character will have a sinister side? Not going to lie — the thought of evil Adam is oddly arousing.

So how did Maroon 5's tattooed frontman get this awesome TV gig, anyway? A length audition process? A couple of cold readings? No way! He's Adam Levine, so naturally opportunity came knocking on the door of his Hollywood Hills mansion.

"I pitched him the part and he listened, slack-jawed, and simply said, 'I'm in.'" dished Murphy.

"The second season is fun, sexy, and baroque. It has a lot of meat to it; it's a really gritty part. He's with a girl, and they play characters called The Lovers."

Say no more, Ryan. We're in!
