Adam Levine is about to add a brand new item to his resume, next to host of The Voice and lead singer of Maroon 5: thespian, thank you very much!
For Adam's film acting debut, he has locked down a lead role in director John Carney's next film Can A Song Save Your Life? The musical film is a follow up to Carney's 2006 Oscar-winning hit Once, which made a huge splash last week at the Tonys when the theatrical version took home 8 awards including Best Musical.
Can A Song Save Your Life? (we bet Adam's answer would be 'yes') will also star Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, and True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld, following two young lovers as they move to New York to pursue careers in music and the down-and-out record producer they meet.
Once's Carney isn't the only great name behind this project; Judd Apatow, executive producer of HBO's runaway hit Girls, is serving in the same capacity here, which will probably mean this film will be pretty darn good (and most definitely nothing at all like Once).
Turns out, Adam has totally caught the acting bug — in addition to the new film, he will also appear on the next season of American Horror Story. Can't wait!
