Department store JCPenney has been using celebrities to endorse their products for a while now, like positivity-filled Ellen DeGeneres.

But for its new JCP Cares campaign, JCPenney has chosen Voice coach Blake Shelton as its ambassador. It may seem like a drastic change after Ellen, but the reality show judge definitely has a relatable side.

JCP Cares will be donating $1 to the United Service Organization (USO) for each customer who checks in with the Foursquare application between July 23 and July 31.

The country singer made an appearance this past Friday in Watertown, New York to kick things off with JCPenney’s $1 million donation check to the USO.

We hope this new job is no distraction from the upcoming season of The Voice!

What do you think of Blake as the JCP Cares ambassador?
