Last week on The Voice, coach Christina Aguilera made the shocking decision to eliminate fan favorite De’Borah Garner in favor of Brooklyn waitress, Adriana Louise.

At the time, Christina said Adriana hadn’t had a chance to prove herself yet, but in last night’s live results show, the contestant was sent packing by America.

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Xtina on the red carpet following the show, and the diva talked about her choice to let the energetic Chicago singer go.

“I know it sucks. It just sucks,” she admitted. “I do love De’Borah, she’s great.”

But will the diva keep up with her former contestant? Potentially.

“I do still keep in touch along the lines with Beverly [McClellan], Chris Mann is doing big things and that’s a case in point,” she said. “Chris Mann wasn’t the winner last year, ultimately, but he’s doing the biggest things right now, trust me. You’ll see him!”

Chris came in fourth place last season after the feud between Christina and Tony Lucca reached a breaking point.

The former opera singer recently released a new album called Roads featuring a duet with Christina.
