For some, the high-intensity performances, intrusive cameras, and severe pressure on The Voice can prove severely nerve-racking. But there are plenty of performers who have already experienced this by the time they hit the stage in front of Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green.

One such contestant is Team Christina’s Sylvia Yacoub. Though she’s currently in the Top 10 on the show, Sylvia once went on to take the crown in another competition. Back in 2010, the Egyptian singer won WXMI-Fox 17’s “West Michigan Idol.”

At the time, Sylvia was 17 and a high school senior from Muskegon, Mich. She beat out 200 hopefuls to claim the top prize and went on to audition for American Idol producers. Apparently the contestant didn’t make it too far since we can’t find any record of her on the show, but their loss is our gain.

This fiery singer has impressed us time and time again, and is definitely one of the favorites to win this year. What do you think of Sylvia on The Voice? Watch her West Michigan Idol audition and comment below!
