During tonight's Season 4 premiere of The Voice 2013, we met identical twin sisters Cara and Rhian Morgan, aka The Morgan Twins. If you think you recognize these Team Blake contestants, chances are you're right — The Morgan Twins auditioned for American Idol Season 2 back in 2003, and even made it to Hollywood Week!
Unfortunately (or fortunately for us Voice fans) the Rochester, N.Y. natives were cut from the competition before advancing to the live shows. Ruben Studdard took home the title that year, which just goes to show you how much better off they are without an American Idol victory under their matching belts.
For their American Idol audition, the twins sang the same exact song you heard during the Season 4 premiere of The Voice, "Fallin'" by Alicia Keys — only this time around they're not teenagers. The 27-year-old ladies have matured exponentially since their reality TV debut over a decade ago, and it all shows in their improved stage presence, vocals, and fashion sense.
Check out The Morgan Twins' original audition for American Idol Season 2 below, and try not to get distracted by Paula Abdul's facial expressions. Or Cara and Rhian's bell sleeves. Thank goodness for bandage dresses!
