Sparks were flying last night on the set of The Voice — and not just between contestants Hailey and Leland (suuure you’re just friends).
The coaches have skipped right past amicable appearances straight to each other’s throats. Yes, the competition is alive and well, which makes for some pretty uncomfortable (read: awesome) moments between our favorite coaches.
From an episode chock-full of snippy name-calling, presumptuous questions, and a few personal attacks, here are our picks for the top quotes of the evening!
10. Cee Lo: You guys love each other, obviously. You’re a couple, right?
Hailey: No!
Adam: Not yet!
We agree, Adam!
9. Blake: I’m gonna weight this thing for you right here: Adam won this thing last year. Christina … didn’t.
Come on, you’re not even in this battle!
8. Cee Lo: Are you are beautiful as I think you are? Wait a minute, let me put on my reading glasses.
Adam: I’m not sure that Cee Lo’s happy that you’re hot or that you’ve got a good voice.
We’re pretty sure it’s the former.
7. Lindsay Paova: I love Fiona Apple
Christina: So do I.
Blake: But I’m the only one that said it.
Let’s not get petty.
6. Blake: I’m married to a female vocalist...
Adam: Will you stop using your wife to sell these people!
Christina: Yes he does!
Blake: That’s all I have!
Yes, that all he has! Well, and some CMT Music Awards, some CMA Awards, an AMA … oh and a bunch of No. 1 hits.
5. Blake: You have a great sound, you’re developed. Cee Lo has another meaning for the word “developed” when he talks to you.
We’d laugh if it wasn’t so creepy … and true.
4. Jermaine Paul: I want to hear that word, “keep.” I want to be kept.
Cee Lo: I’ll tell you what, I won’t make it anymore “complicated” than it already is.
At least he’s making a pun on Jermaine’s song selection rather than his looks this time. What, Cee Lo, no love for the boys?
3. Adam: I did do well last year …
Blake: Cocky rockstars, man, wow.
Whoa! This is a family show, Mr. I’m So All-American!
2. Christina: You have such a unique quality and tone to your voice and I don’t want to touch that, I just want to play with you and have a great time experimenting.
Blake: That’s weird.
I’m not sure we want to touch this one either, Blake.
1. Adam: There were little issues, there were pitch issues, but you’re beautiful, obviously.
Pamela Rose: Thank you so much.
Adam: So, congrats on that.
Your parents must have been so pleased.
