Jamar Rogers From The Voice Season 2: Was He on American Idol?
The Voice contestant Jamar Rogers inspired everyone watching on Feb. 6, including judge Cee Lo Green — Jamar’s personal idol.
And he would know a thing or two about Idols. The Bronx star has auditioned for American Idol several times, and is perhaps most memorable as Danny Gokey's close friend during Season 8's Hollywood Week (check out their group number of "Somebody to Love"). He dropped out of Season 9 auditions to pursue a career with Phil Ramone — a Grammy Award winning producer who has worked with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Madonna.
In his personal life, Jamar has battled crystal meth, been diagnosed HIV-positive, and was even homeless. He has used these challenges to become a strong individual, and today, he works to help those who are less fortunate by volunteering at God's Love We Deliver.
This self-proclaimed “comeback kid” took the stage by storm Monday night with his rendition of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
