Last season, Juliet Simms took the Voice stage by storm. The rocker powered through a wide range of songs, wailing high notes and impressing everyone with her unique, raspy voice.

On last night’s live results show, the Season 2 favorite returned to debut her new single, “Wild Child,” and when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with her on the red carpet, she spilled about her upcoming album — including working with her coach, Cee Lo Green — the pressure of performing on the Voice stage again, and her friendship with Final 3 contestant Cassadee Pope!

Wetpaint Entertainment: How did it feel to be back up there on the stage?

Juliet Simms: It felt incredible. It felt like I graduated Voice college, and I was able to get up there and do what I love to do the most.

Did that bring back a lot of memories?

It totally did. Being on that stage is a really incredible feeling; it’s so powerful to sing on that stage. America is watching and you have four incredible coaches in front of you watching you. It just feels like you’ve really accomplished something.

Was it nerve-racking to perform in front of the coaches again?

When I first got up there, I was like, “Oh God, they’re gonna judge me,” but then I was like, “It doesn’t matter.” I could just be myself, and I didn’t have to worry about the pressure. Honestly, I wanted to put on the best performance possible, and I did. But because there was no pressure to have to do it, it made it a lot easier to be very comfortable.

As someone who’s been through this before, were you feeling the pressure for the other contestants up there tonight?

Oh gosh, yes! When they first announced Terry [McDermott], I felt for my girl Cassadee [Pope] because we are actually really good friends. I just felt for her so much. I’ve been in those shoes. I know what it feels like and my heart was there with her.

So are you on team Cassadee now?

Well, I’m very loyal to team Cee Lo …

How involved has Cee Lo been in your career?

Cee Lo has taken me under his wing and is co-managing me along with Primary Wave. He’s written some songs that he wants to have on my album and we work very close with each other.

When can we expect your album to be released?

Early next year!

How would you describe it?

Expect honest, truthful, heartfelt, lyrics with emotion. It will be very dynamic — it’s gonna be quite a roller coaster: ups and downs and a lot of emotion. I’m a Pisces, so it’s actually gonna be like 13 songs of me crying! [Laughs]
