'NSync’s JC Chasez Responds to Christina Aguilera’s Comments on The Voice, Supports Tony Lucca
Once a Mouseketeer, always a Mouseketeer.
It seems the former Disney variety show that has produced pop culture greats like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and The Voice’s Christina Aguilera, formed a loyal bond for some of the cast.
First, Justin Timberlake tweeted his support for The Voice contestant and former Mouseketeer, Tony Lucca. Then, America was shocked when Tony’s fellow Mouseketeer, Christina Aguilera, criticized his live-show performance as being one-dimensional and cited a “celebrity sway” behind the singer’s popularity on the show.
Tony later defended his performance, saying that Christina may have had “ulterior motives” behind her comments, but that he respects her right to give her opinion.
Last night on Access Hollywood, JC Chasez — former Mouseketeer and 'NSync member — commented on the controversy.
“I love [Christina],” JC said. “She’s absolutely supposed to do her job and express her opinion, and that is definitely her opinion.”
That being said, JC is a big Tony Lucca fan.
“I think Tony has represented himself magnificently on the show because I don’t really just look at Tony as a singer, and [Christina] is thinking in terms of maybe singing, how he sang the song. I’m looking at him as a performer.”
Not one to be behind the Mouseketeer curve (see Britney on X Factor), JC is also a reality TV judge on Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew.
There’s no doubt he’s qualified — did you see “Bye, Bye, Bye”?
