In addition to nail-biting eliminations last night, Voice fans were treated to some killer performances. Country trio, Rascal Flatts, took to the stage to debut their new single, “Changed,” and picked Team Blake’s Cassadee Pope and Team Cee Lo’s Cody Belew to perform with them.

When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the group on the red carpet following the show, they were filled with compliments for all of the contestants, but one in particular stands out to them.

Wetpaint Entertainment: So you guys debuted your new single today. How do you think it went?

Jay DeMarcus: I think it was awful. I’d like to have it to do over again. No I’m just kidding. It was very very good and every time I hear Gary sing that song, it gives me chills. It’s kind of like an out-of-body experience because he sings those lyrics because they are so powerful and I was proud of Cassadee and Cody too. They did a really fantastic job.

What was it like to share that moment with Cassadee and Cody?

Jon Don Rooney: Oh, it was great and for both of them to be saved tonight too and moving forward. It was great!

Gary LeVox: They just did phenomenal and they are really on their way. No matter where The Voice turns out for either one of them, their lives will be forever changed and they’ve got a wonderful platform to continue moving forward.

Were you guys at all nervous that you were going to perform with people from The Voice and that maybe one or two of them were going to get kicked off the night they performed your new song with you?

Gary LeVox: It’s like doing the anthem at a football game. If they lose you’re never asked back! If both of them would have been kicked off it would have been like, “Hey guys let’s go try The X Factor or something.”

We overheard you saying that if you had to choose, you’d be rooting for Cassadee. Are you sticking with that?

Jay DeMarcus: Joe Don said that. I’m not going to pick one of them.

Joe Don Rooney: I said that if I had to pick right now, she would probably be my top pick.

Jay DeMarcus: I think they’re all fantastic.

Well when we interviewed Cassadee yesterday, she had very nice things to say about you guys.

Jay DeMarcus: Well then I would vote for Cassadee!

She was saying she wanted to be more of the crossover country and you were a great example of a more rockin’ country band.

Gary LeVox: Well she could do it. She’s great.

If there was a show like The Voice when you guys were first starting out, do you think that you would have auditioned for it?

Jay DeMarcus: Only if there was Blake Shelton because I think Blake would have been of age back then.

Joe Don Rooney: Gary’s the lead singer so he probably would have. The show is named after you, Gary. The Vox, The Voice!

Do you agree with Rascal Flatts? Will Cassadee win? Weigh in below!
