Millions of Americans tune in each week to watch The Voice, including pop superstar Kelly Clarkson! The American Idol alum has appeared on The Voice as a Season 2 mentor and even admitted that it’s the only competition show she regularly watches.
In case you need proof of this, Kelly actually tweeted her reaction to contestant Savannah Berry’s performance on April 2.
“@blakeshelton @adamlevine I hate to say this Adam, but Blake is gonna win with Savannah Berry. Yep, that's gonna happen. C'mon Savannah!!!” Kelly tweeted.
Sure, Kelly and Blake are besties, but the pop star is also about to start a massive summer tour with Adam Levine and Maroon 5. Savannah ultimately sided with Kelly and picked Team Blake, and she was thrilled to get a tweet from her idol.
Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Savannah the day after her audition aired to talk about her exciting online interaction with the “Stronger” singer.
“When I first saw the tweet from Kelly Clarkson, I was just beside myself because I’ve been such a huge fan of hers from day one, ever since her first performance on television,” Savannah said. “I think she’s phenomenal and such an inspiration, and I think she’s really the first artist that I ever really looked up to and she’s the first person who I’ve ever seen in concert before. Knowing that I’ve grown up watching her and listening to her, it was just amazing to know that she even knows who I am.”
If Savannah’s performance of Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars’ “Safe & Sound” is any indication, she could have a lot more celebrity tweets heading her way as the competition progresses.
