We can’t wait for The Voice Season 4 to start, but once it does, time certainly flies. The spring 2013 season premieres on Monday, March 25 and the finale will air Tuesday, June 18.

This season is significantly shorter than the fall 2012 one, which lasted four months. The difference? Season 3 featured teams of 16 and Season 4 will only have 12 contestants per team.

When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with coach Adam Levine at a press conference in New York City last year, the rocker explained the change.

“Sixteen is ridiculous,” Adam admitted. “It’s very hard to find anybody that’s an amazing singer, but 16 people, I think that it was a bit overwhelming for the coaches and even for the audience. It was just a lot. It was almost too much to process. So we’re back to 12 now and I think that’s a better number. That works for everyone.”

Also new this season are coaches Usher and Shakira who are filling in for Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. New coaches means new chemistry, but we’ve gotten a sneak peek of the premiere episode, and you won’t be disappointed.
