The Voice Season 4 doesn’t premiere until March 25, 2013, but already the four celebrity coaches are vying for the top spot this spring. Newcomers Shakira and Usher are temporarily replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, but should that concern veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine?

Adam won the first season of The Voice with contestant Javier Colon and Blake’s contestants Jermaine Paul and Cassadee Pope took home the Seasons 2 and 3 titles respectively.

So coming into this competition, the vets are the ones to beat. At the same time, Usher has lots of experience mentoring stars with teen sensation Justin Bieber already under his wing.

And Shakira is not to be scoffed at. The Latin sensation has more than 20 million followers on Twitter compared to Adam’s almost 4 million and Blake’s 2.6 million.

Could these loyal fans catapult her into being the Season 4 champ? Possibly.

Also consider the fact that the newcomers aren’t worn out from 3+ seasons of filming a hit reality show in addition to their outside projects. They come in with a fresh take on the competition and the talent.

And after three seasons and no noted star coming out of talent pool, contestants may want to try their hand on someone with a different set of eyes and connections.
