The Voice Contestant Erin Martin Says Her Upcoming Performance Is “Grammy Worthy”
After a strong blind audition and mixed reviews over her battle round against The Shields Brothers, former model and The Voice Season 2 contestant Erin Martin is coming into the live shows with plenty of confidence.
In a recent interview with RealityWanted, Erin had a lot to say about how she’s been perceived thus far and what to expect in the next phase of the competition.
The biggest objection to Erin as a contestant? Her looks. Some viewers have complained that Erin's physical features have given her an unfair advantage, despite the show's claim that it focuses solely on “the voice."
“Yeah, you know … with The Voice, after the blind auditions, they're looking for the whole package as far as artists go,” Erin told RealityWanted, defending her place in the competition. “I think I embody that. I think I'm flexible as an artist. I show versatility, and I think Cee Lo wants someone who can bring the shock and awe value, and I think I can provide that. I think he sees me as a moldable artist, and I think that's invaluable in this competition.”
But Erin seems to understand that looks aren’t everything as she prepares for the live shows.
“I have the biggest surprise for you guys, I can't even tell you!” she said. “It's going to be a Grammy-worthy performance and they have some things prepared for all of us. The live performances are just going to be over the top, just incredible.”
Someone is certainly self-assured.
