The Voice Season 1 Contestant Frenchie Davis Comes Out
Team Xtina semifinalist Frenchie Davis has officially come out just in time for Pride Week.
According to her recent interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, she has been dating a woman for the past year.
“I dated men and women, though lesbains weren’t feeling the bisexual thing,” Frenchie said. “Now I’m in love with a woman I think I can be with forever.”
In addition to her time on the first season of The Voice, Frenchie was also a controversial contestant on American Idol.
Frenchie appeared in the second season of American Idol, but was disqualified from the show after the singer admitted to posing for topless photos (though the photos were never released).
The powerhouse vocalist has also appeared in Rent on Broadway and a touring production of Dreamgirls as Effie.
Frenchie has become a bit of an icon in the LGBT community saying, “The gay community is my most loyal fan base. Whenever an opportunity presents itself, I jump at it.”
The singer will be performing a multiple Pride events in the coming days, including PrideFest in St. Louis this weekend.
We’re happy Frenchie is out and in love! But we might have guessed it from her Voice blind audition. Watch below!
