Though Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have The Voice’s sexiest bromance, one contestant gave Blake a run for his money last season. Team Adam’s Tony Lucca had great chemistry with the tattooed rocker, and it definitely showed.

The duo’s fantastic collaborations took Tony to the finals on the show, and now the rocker recently signed with Adam’s record label, 222 Records.

But in a recent interview, Tony was singing the praises of another Voice coach.

“If Adam hadn’t turned around, I was hoping that maybe Blake would have,” Tony admitted to CBS Local. “Certainly in hindsight, knowing how he is with his team, not to blow anyone’s cover, but he’s the most hands on with his team. He’s very giving. He’s into the camaraderie. He loves the gig. He loves being a coach and being involved in these young artists’ lives.”

But the compliments didn’t stop there. Tony even said that Blake might have been the best coach for him.

“He’s extremely personable and he’s the smartest man in the room,” he said. “As much as I’ve benefited from the edgier, risk-oriented Adam, I feel like maybe I could have benefited from the easy stride of Blake and his world.”
