The Voice Season 2 Music Wish List for April 23, 2012: Songs We'd Love to Hear From Team Adam and Team Cee Lo
After last week’s shocking instant eliminations on Team Christina and Team Blake, we know that tonight’s contestants will be singing for their lives on the show.
If they want to perform on The Voice stage tomorrow, here’s what we suggest:
Team Adam
Katrina Parker
“A New Day Has Come” by Celine Dion
Katrina has a beautiful, pure quality to her voice, and has been compared to strong female vocalists like Adele. We think she’d sound gorgeous on this Celine Dion ballad.
Mathai
“Shake It Out” by Florence + The Machine
Mathai’s distinctive sound makes her stand-out in the contestant pool, and her rockin’ stage presence would allow her to “shake it out.”
Pip
“Grenade” by Bruno Mars
Ignoring his mishap with The Killers last week, Pip does have a strong, old-timey sound. Bruno Mars loves to play up the big band angle and we bet there’s even a spot for our boy’s bow tie in there!
Tony Lucca
“Paradise” by Coldplay
Though this song is incredibly repetitive, Tony could definitely leave us with a memorable performance. After all, the man does know how to rock out, and so does Coldplay. Match made in heaven.
Team Cee Lo
Cheesa
“I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross
Though we’re not always the biggest fans of Cheesa’s voice, we loved her fun disco number two weeks ago. She’d put on a good performance with this Motown hit!
Jamar Rogers
“The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson
No other performer in this competition could do Michael Jackson with as much energy as Jamar. We’d love to see him try out some of Michael’s dance moves too.
James Massone
“My Love” by Justin Timberlake
James has been playing up his ladies man vibe with supple sounds and a soft voice. We know another artist who does that too ...
Juliet Simms
“I Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye
This girl could rock out to just about anything, but we’d love to see her tackle Motown. Songs about cheating spouses and wronged lovers? Sounds perfect for her gritty tone.
