The Voice Season 3: Best Performance of the Night From Knockout Round 1 on Oct. 29, 2012 (VIDEO)
Though the battles are over, the contestants on The Voice Season 3 have only just begun fighting for their musical lives. Last night’s episode was the start of the brand new knockout rounds, in which contestants are allowed to sing the song of their choice against a member of their own team.
Teams Adam and Cee Lo went first with some pretty shocking results. But no one surprised us quite as much as the pairing from Team Adam of Loren Allred and Nicole Nelson.
Nicole had long been a coach and fan favorite with her soulful sound and impressive control. Loren’s time on the show had been cut short in a series of montages, and going into the knockout round, it seemed pretty clear whom Adam would name the winner.
But Loren’s impressive and emotionally connected rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” shocked the coaches so much that Adam named her the winner. Check out both Loren and Nicole’s performances below and tell us who you think deserved to move on.
