Last night, the self-proclaimed “Lady Gaga of China” took to The Voice Season 3 stage. And from what we saw, calling Domo (or D to the O to the M to the O) a big personality is like saying Christina Aguilera enjoys flaunting her curves — it’s a no-brainer.

After the singer practically offered Cee Lo Green a lap dance during her blind audition of The Pussycat Dolls’ “Don’t Cha,” she led the audience in a pep rally chant, shouting, “When I say ‘Da’ you say ‘Mo,” that lasted far past the socially accepted spotlight time.

But when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the performer, she claimed that her persona is all for the stage.

“We have to take this psych test [for The Voice],” Domo said. “My score said I’m super shy and I’m very laid back. I’m the total opposite [of my stage presence] in real life. When I get on stage, I just feel like you have to just bring it. It won’t resonate if you’re not larger than life, if you don’t come across like you’re already a superstar.”

So why did this larger than life singer choose The Voice?

“I had experience on America’s Best Dance Crew, and although the experience was amazing and the exposure was great, I didn’t know if I wanted to put myself [back] out there,” she said.
“Whatever the show wants you to be is kind of what you are. When I heard how
The Voice works, I was like, ‘You know, it sound pretty cool, so I’ll give it a chance.’”

But when we pressed Domo for more details on her experience, she said, “You know, you can’t complain. I made it as far as I did, and I’m actually happy that I made the decision to go on The Voice.”

That seems like a pretty lackluster response from someone who has already taped her battle rounds. Obviously the contestant wasn’t ready to completely spill the beans, but we have a feeling that none of the other judges would “steal” this “handful” if she lost in a battle round.
