As The Voice judges prepare for tonight’s live show and this week’s finale, it seems they are approaching the high-pressure situation with humor.

Three of the four judges (Christina couldn’t make it) appeared on The Today Show this morning, May 7, to discuss the show and their friendship.

When asked about the competition aspect of the show, coach Adam Levine responded, “I’m competitive with myself, but these guys are my homies. I love you guys.”

Though Cee Lo Green expressed his love too, Blake Shelton was quick to call out Adam on his answer, “What do you mean you’re competitive with yourself? That’s the most generic piece of crap answer.”

“You’re right, it was a terrible answer,” Adam joked. “It was totally dishonest. The truth is f*** these guys. I want to beat the crap out of them in every possible way. And if you’re saying this is a competition, absolutely, and they’re both going down.”

The coaches' banter and good spirits bode well for tonight’s show. Tonight will play host to the final performances before Tuesday night’s results show.
