The Voice's Blake Shelton and Lionel Richie Perform “You Are” at 2012 ACM Awards (VIDEO)
Thanks to The Voice’s battle rounds, we’re used to unusual pairings. Last night, The Voice coach Blake Shelton and Voice mentor Lionel Richie performed together on stage at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 1, 2012.
The two sang “You Are,” the first song on Lionel’s newest album Tuskegee, which features Lionel singing a variety of duets. (Preparing for your new show Duets, Lionel?)
Blake and Lionel sang the song as the show’s credits ran right after it was announced that Taylor Swift beat out Blake for Entertainer of the Year. Blake’s loss didn’t seem to affect his performance, though!
