The Voice’s Christina Aguilera Is Nominated for a 2012 ALMA Award!
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that under that blonde (and occasionally purple) head of hair, Christina Aguilera is, in fact, half Ecuadorean.
The singer frequently celebrates her hispanic heritage — and even released an album completely in Spanish called Mi Reflejo (My Reflection) — but this year, the American Latino Media Arts Awards is recognizing Xtina not for her music, but for her time on The Voice.
The pop diva received a 2012 ALMA Award nomination in the Favorite TV Reality, Variety, or Comedy Personality or Act category. Our girl is going up against comedian Gabriel Iglesias, show host George Lopez, former American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, and Dancing With the Stars’ William Levy.
Xtina’s main competition will probably be her fellow music reality judge J Lo, but with our girl’s fierce commentary and wacky ensembles, Christina’s got this one covered.
